Abhishek Bachchan will be ringing in his birthday in New York this year, with wife Aishwariya Rai. The actor, whose film, Delhi 6 is ready for release, will be accompanying his wife to the premiere of Pink Panther 2.

The actor who has just wrapped up a schedule of Mani Ratnam's Raavan in Orchha, reportedly flew out with Ash in tow last night. He probably needs a break from Mani's gruelling schedules. It has come close on the heels of Delhi 6 which was reportedly a little emotional for Abhishek and Rakesh Mehra. The actor was supposed to work with Mehra in his debut film. But destiny willed it otherwise and Abhishek made his debut in JP Dutta's Refugee. It took a while before Mehra and Abhishek could come together for a project. So, in that sense, Delhi 6 has been an experience for both of them. As for the director, Delhi 6 has been quite emotional also because it was s story which has been with him for years, much before Rang De Basanti. It is, in a sense, a journey back into the bylanes of Old Delhi, where he spent some of his most memorable childhood moments. Guess, with so much emotion spilling over, they all probably need a break. Abhishek seems to have taken the cue for his break.
