Preity Zinta and Juhi Chawla’s presence at the IPL auction in Jaipur turned out to be the longest so far.
While the former, the Mohali team owner, was bidding for the Mohali team, the latter was bidding on behalf of Shah Rukh Khan, for the Kolkata team. The two stars were constantly seen outsmarting the other over a completely unknown Mushrafe Mortaza a Bangladeshi bowler.
Juhi started the proceedings with $50,000, the base price. The auction went on till $600,000, which is over 12 times more than the base price.
Cricket experts say that the decision to bid for Mortaza was to increase the popularity of Kolkata’s team in the neighboring states and countries.
