It seems that Shilpa Shetty is very serious about doing something for a good cause. The lady is believed to have adopted four villages, each costing Rs 3 lakh for the TERI Lighting the Billion Lives Project. But she has found an innovative manner in which to further help the cause.
After picking up a share in the Rajasthan Royals team along with beau Raj Kundra, Shilpa has decided to further the green cause by giving money to the three villages that she has adopted. Each time that a batsman from the Rajasthan Royals hits a six in the IPL league, she will contribute Rs 6000 to the villages. It seems that the actress was initially planning to contribute to her own foundation but later picked up this green cause. The Lighting the Billion Lives Project aims at providing solar energy to the villages across India. Shilpa wants to take active part in working for the cause and even plans to post pictures of the updates received on the progress in these villages on her website. This is really another feather in her cap. It may be far removed from the world of glamour, but the lady will be making a real difference to many lives with her contribution. Great going Shilpa!
