Director Siddharth Anand, who has been a part of Yash Raj Films, has decided to branch out of his alma mater. The young director started his career with this banner and is now moving out of the banner to direct for other producers.
Anand first shot into prominence with the Saif Ali Khan, Preity Zinta starrer Salaam Namaste, which he directed for Yash Raj. Films like Ta Ra Rum Pum, starring Saif and Rani Mukherjee and the latest Bachna Ae Haseeno followed. The last mentioned starred Ranbir Kapoor in his second film, along with Bipasha Basu, Minissha Lamba and Deepika Padukone. Except for Ta Ra Rum Pum, the remaining two films have done quite well at the box office. According to reports, Anand's contract with Yash Raj Films is over and he is now moving on to direct a film for Sajid Nadiadwala. The film and its details will be announced next month. It is believed that the film will be shot from August onwards.
