Washington, July 27 (ANI): Author JK Rowling is 'proud' that the ending of the Harry Potter series was kept a secret till the end.

When Rowling revealed that two important characters would be dying in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, millions of fans worldwide had believed that the young boy wizard would be one of them.

Rowling now reveals that she's glad that the mystery surrounding the end of the Potter series was kept under wraps till the end.

"I'm very proud of the fact that as we went into this book, many, many readers thought it was a real possibility that Harry would die. That's what I was aiming for, that everyone was up for grabs," Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.

The seventh and final book in the series went on sale worldwide on July 21. Fans also showed how just how strongly Pottermania had gripped the world when the Deathly Hallows set a new record by becoming the fastest selling book in history. (ANI)
