'The Simpsons Movie' tops weekend box office

Washington, July 30 (ANI): 'The Simpsons Movie' has topped the weekend box office with an estimated earning of 71.9 million dollars, according to data complied by Exhibitor Relations.

The animated film was followed by 'I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry' starring Adam Sandler and Kevin James with 19,1 million dollars at the second spot, reports E! Online.

'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix' (17.1 million dollars) and Hairspray (15.6 million dollars) secured third and fourth places respectively.

'No Reservations' rounded off the top five, at the fifth position.

The top 10 films according to Friday-Sunday estimates compiled by Exhibitor Relations are as follows:

1) The Simpsons Movie, 71.9 million dollars

2) I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, 19.1 million dollars

3) Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, 17.1 million dollars

4) Hairspray, 15.6 million dollars

5) No Reservations, 11.8 million dollars

6) Transformers, 11.5 million dollars

7) Ratatouille, 7.2 million dollars

8) Live Free or Die Hard, 5.4 million dollars

9) I Know Who Killed Me, 3.4 million dollars
