Washington, Aug 4 (ANI): It seems Eddie Murphy will soon be facing the music for disowning his daughter Angel Iris, for Melanie Brown was spotted having a "friendly" lunch with the actor's ex-wife.
The Spice Girl, who filed a paternity action suit against ex-lover Murphy in the Los Angeles Superior Court, met Nicole Mitchell, and her daughter Bella Zahra, 5, for a lunch date, a day after her lawyer Gloria Allred claimed in a press conference that the actor 'had not paid one penny of child support'.
According to a source, Mel B and Nicole, who divorced Murphy in 2006 were very friendly with each other.
"They seemed really friendly toward one another. They had a pretty private meal in the back corner, away from all of us," People quoted the source, as saying.
Nicole has five kids with Murphy, who is currently engaged to film producer Tracey Edmonds.
Earlier, talking to reporters at a press conference Brown insisted that Angel was a planned baby.
"I am here today for one reason and one reason only; her name is Angel. Angel is my baby and Eddie's. She will always know that she was planned and wanted by both of us," she said.
"The relationship was in full swing right at the beginning of my pregnancy," Brown added.
Her attorney insisted that the action suit was prompted by Murphy's 'shocking and appalling conduct since he learned Ms. Brown was pregnant'.
This included Murphy stating on live Dutch TV last year: "We don't know whose child that is until it comes out and has a blood test."
Allred also insisted that while a DNA test in June this year 'established [Murphy's] paternity, but paternity has not been legally acknowledged', even though Murphy had told reporters that he would 'do the right thing' if the baby was his.
"Murphy was promising to do the right thing, but to date he has not done the right thing. Mr. Murphy can have all the babies he chooses to have, but his responsibility needs to be to his own children. [Brown] is seeking sole physical and legal custody," said Allred.
"When a star such as Murphy turns his back on his own baby, it sends an unacceptable message to other single fathers around the world. I'm telling you, Mr. Murphy, it's all over...We've seen you in the movies, and now we look forward to seeing you in court," she added. (ANI)
