Mumbai, Aug 7 (ANI): Actor Boman Irani has insisted that more films should be made on Mahatma Gandhi, to ensure that all 'aspects of the father of the nation is made known to the world'.

The actor, who has himself performed in a play called Mahatma verses Gandhi, said that films on Gandhiji should be made not only to encourage a cinema, but also to show the unexplored sides of the greatest Indian ever.

"I myself had done a role of Gandhi in the play Mahatma verses Gandhi. I did 60-70 performances all over the world. Then I'd also worked in 'Maine Gandhi ko Nahin Maara', 'Lage Raho Munna Bhai'. And now one more movie on Gandhi ji, Gandhi My Father is also released. So its not important only that we've to encourage a cinema, or to tell audiences that these kinds of films are also been made and it should be encouraged, but he is the one person in our country that we are all really proud of.

"I think people abroad remember him more than me sometimes and that is a shame And that's why I feel that it is very important that all aspects and facets of Bapu should be shown to the world," he added..

The actor's upcoming projects include 'Hey Baby' and 'Goal'. (ANI)
