To commemorate the seventy five years of Tamil cinema, a grand event is planned by Nadigar Sangam which will be held in Singapore on the 11th of August.
Many artists will be participating in this grand gala event and the arrangements are being done by the President of Nadigar Sangam, Sarathkumar and general secretaries Radha Ravi, Vijaykumar and others.
An invitation has been sent to all artists who are registered with the council and some of them have even been approached personally to keep themselves free on that day. Majority of the artists will be taking part in the function but some of them have expressed their inability to partake in this event. This has triggered the council to announce that non performing artists at the Singapore function will be issued a red card. It has been said that Nadigar Sangam will be holding talks with the producer’s association and FEFSI regarding this issue.
Meanwhile it has been learnt that the top honchos of Kollywood, Rajni and Kamal will not be able to involve themselves in this event as the former is in Europe currently in connection with his daughter’s animation film Sultan and proceeding from there to the United States for a holiday. On the other hand Kamal Hassan is extremely busy wrapping up Dasavatharam and cannot be expected to spare few moments outside this project. In such a condition, the question on everyone’s lips is will Nadigar Sangam issue red card to these matinee icons of Kodambakkam. One will have to wait and watch.
