After the surprise hit of Chennai 28, all eyes are on its director Venkat Prabhu.

After all it was Chennai 28 that elevated him to the star status overnight. The clever director said that though he was swamped with offers he was cautious about his every move and did not want to commit another movie without a proper story.

Now that he is confident with a new story, Venkat is all set to commence his next directorial venture. And he does not stop with direction alone, for Venkat has written the story, screenplay and dialogues too. Naming it as Desiya Nedunchalai 47, Venkat said that he is planning to introduce a set of new faces. Desiya Nedunchalai 47 is being produced by a new production house. So far, cameraman Shakthi Saravanan and music director Yuvan Shankar Raja have been signed up for the movie. The other cast and crew will be decided up on soon.

Reacting to a question if the rumors that he is all set to direct Ajith soon, Venkat said that people raise the same question over and over again. Not denying it though, the director said that he has plans to cast Ajith in his movie but that would take another year or so.
