The top spot no longer belongs to Harry Potter. The boy wizard was knocked off the pinnacle by very unpretentious contenders ‘Chuck and Larry’.
Well, that’s how people prefer to call the new Adam Sandler movie ‘I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry’. This out-and-out comedy, about two men who pretend to be gays so that their wives can avail state benefits, has found many takers and has grabbed the USA top spot pushing the Order of the Phoenix to second.
Obviously, Harry does not own the top spot like he appeared to have a week ago and ironically it had to be a straight harmless comedy, not a big budget threequel or something on those lines.
In England, Daniel Radcliff was seen relaxing at the Lord’s watching the last day of the first test between India and England (incidentally his 18th birthday) after the pretty hectic promotional tour over the past weeks. He was later seen queuing up for Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar’s autograph. Hope some of the boy wizard’s magic rubbed off on the Indian team; rain may not come to their rescue the next time round.
