Madhavan opens his heart about how he acquired the African parrot which has become a part of his family. The actor said that the parrot was formerly a pet of one of his close friends.

When the friend expressed his desire to give away the parrot on adoption Maddy saw no reason why he could not adopt it and immediately jumped on the offer.

“That’s how the parrot landed in my home and has now become a part of the family,” he said. Unlike the usual way where parrots are caged, the actor says that his pet parrot is free to roam around in the house. He is also sentimental about the parrot considering it as his son.

Talking about the PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment) who honoured him with the title cutest vegetarian, Madhavan said that he feels so honoured but also added that he thinks killing a life whether human or animals is all the same and equally cruel. Pointing out an example, the actor said that John Abraham an ardent vegetarian shot to fame more for his physique.
