Currently Surya is busy with Vel with director Hari at Alangulam in Tirunelveli district. While discussing about his film, Hari states, “Vel is a beautiful story that will highlight the value of joint family system which is almost receded in today’s society.

We have completed 24 days of shooting in Alangulam and the locals are very cooperative despite the fact that a film shooting is being conducted in their area for the first time.

Of course there is always a crowd even during nights but they are very supportive and do not create any problem for us”.

While comparing an outdoor shoot with that within a set, Hari prefers the former as it gives him an opportunity to interact with people and understand them better. Forty more days of shooting would see the completion of Vel which will be a Diwali release. After completing this venture, Hari will be directing his next project with Bharath as hero. Meanwhile hero Surya has plans to take a few days off to be with his wife Jyothika during her delivery.
