The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu is a well-known literary genius. Many of his literary works have been made into movies much to the delight of fans and movie buffs. Kollywood will soon churn out yet another movie made from his celebrated novel Uliyin Osai. This high-budget movie will be produced by J Nandhini Arts on behalf of Thiruvottriyur S.P. Murugesan.
Interestingly, when Ilayaraja was approached with a request to score the music, the maestro did not ask about the storyline. And much to the surprise of the team, the ace music director had stated that he had read the novel several years ago and knows the story by heart. And he proved it too. For, how else could one explain his action of composing music for all the seven songs at a single stretch - starting from 6 AM and completing it at 9 AM the next morning?
This historical love story is set during the times of the great king Raja Raja Cholan and revolves around the fabulous Thanjai Periya Kovil and the mystery surrounding its sculptures.
Sources say that Vineeth had bagged the coveted lead role. P. Kannan has been signed up to handle the camera. Writer Illavenil will be handling the script and dialogue departments in addition to directing the movie. The costumes are being chosen with extreme care, with artist Maruthi first painting it, to let the costume designers have a feel of it.
