The ongoing tussle between the producers and the multiplex owners is burning a hole in both their pockets. It's no secret that multiplexes are loosing tons of money everyday and producers have a lot at stake as well. Certain sources insist that it will be the producers who will blink first in this stand off.
Of course, Mahesh Bhatt, the head of the producers' body insists that such is not the case. But even he admits that the standoff cannot continue like this for long. There is a lot of talk about producers reviving single theatres, but all that is just talk as of now. If there is some kind of breakthrough that can be achieved, most producers would have forgotten about single theatres. Meanwhile, certain producers like Madhu Mantena of Ghajini, have re released their movies right now, hoping to cash in on the Hindi cinema starved public. It seems that even UT has had the same idea. The production house is all set to re release some of their films like Rang De Basanti, Jodhaa Akbar, Race, Fashion, A Wednesday and Oye Lucky Lucky Oye. The re release is set for May 1 as the production house hopes to cash in on the long weekend.
