Tomorrow sees the release of Ammtoje Mann directed KAAFILA. While Bollywood is aware about the fact that Sunny Deol plays the lead in the film, not many are aware that the film also stars Sudesh Berry.Mostly playing character roles in his 30 odd released films so far, ever since he first made an appearance in KHATRON KA KHILADI almost a couple of decades back, he shot to limelight with his performance in BORDER. Playing an army man who reported to Sunny Deol, his role had various shades and was noticed for its fine portrayal.
Sudesh did a number of films after BORDER and was seen with Sunny again in MAA TUJHE SALAAM. Apart from that he featured in number of other films with Army/BSF as a backdrop like LOC-KARGIL, TANGO CHARLIE and BORDER HINDUSTAN KA but the magic of BORDER was missing.
Now with Sunny and Sudesh coming together in KAAFILA, one has strong hopes that the film would revive the camaraderie that was witnessed earlier in BORDER. A talented actor, Sudesh Beri deserves his due sooner or later.
In the film, he plays a Sikh character from Punjab who is one of the many men who are trying their luck in the foreign land. As an illegal migrant, he too gets trapped in the web of agents and now has to struggle hard to get his way out.
How Sunny Deol enters his life along with that of number of other migrants and ensures a safe passage for them forms the crux of the film.
