Actor Arjun Rampal has had to struggle in his own way to make his place in the industry. The model turned actor, was hardly taken seriously as an actor till Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om happened.

His villainous act in Om Shanti Om seemd to catch Dame Luck's eye and soon the actor was on a roll. He was seen next in Rituparno Ghosh's The Last Lear, where he shared screen space with Amitabh Bachchan and Preitiy Zinta and acquited himself quite honourably. But the icing on the cake was his role of Joe, the angst ridden guitarist in Abhishek Kapoor's Rock On! Now finally, the actor is being inundated with offers for solo hero films as well. But maybe success seems to be getting to his head. Last heard, the actor was believed to have turned down a role in Shirish Kunder's The Joker only because the money was not right. It seems that despite the fact that Farah was the one who gave him a huge break with Om Shanti Om, the actor was not willing to compromise on his price for her husband. Incidentally, Kunder's track record with Farah's friends has hardly been great. First, it was Farah's best friend, Shah Rukh Khan who was to play the lead in the movie. But due to difference between the two, SRK backed out of the project. Now that Akshay Kumar is playing the lead in the movie, Kunder wanted to cast Arjun as the villain opposite him. But the deal seems to have come unstuck due to money.
