The multiplex and producers tussle seems to have thrown cold water over Sajid Nadiawala's dreams of walking the red carpet at the Cannes film festival along with Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor, the stars of his movie, Kambakkht Ishq.
The Cannes festival is scheduled t be held between May 13 to 24. However, since the tussle between producers and multiplex owners is yet to be resolved, no producer is allowed to screen a trailor of his film anywhere or release audio cassettes. Since, Nadiadwala will be unable to do either, there is little point of going to Cannes. The producer was looking forward to his first visit to Cannes, where he was planning to promote Kambakkht Ishq along with its stars Akshay and Kareena. Sajid had plans of even flying down the Hollywood brigade consisting of Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards and Brenden Routh as well to Cannes. In fact, producer was also planning to promote his movie at the IPL final on May 24, where Akshay and Kareena were all set to perform. The producer was planning to release the film's music as well after that. But with the strike not showing any signs of ending, all plans of promotion have been shelved.
