The title of the movie, Mussanjeya Katha Prasanga, has been changed to Avva. Directed by veteran filmmaker Kavitha Lankesh, Avva is based on an episode from the novel 'Mussanjeya Katha Prasanga' written by her father, late P. Lankesh. The novel had also won the Sahitya Academy Award.
Avva, starring Vijay in the lead, is slated to begin shooting on August 13th. Newcomer Smrithi plays the female lead. The movie also stars Shruthi Mahendar and Rangayana Raghu in important roles. The movie will have Home Minister M.P. Prakash playing the character of Gowda.
Pyramid Saimira Theatre Ltd, which was dealing with the distribution and exhibition business of Kannada films, is making its entry into film production through this film. Madhu Ambat handles the camera and Issac Thomas Kottukapally helms the music.
