It has been ages since one saw Randhir Kapoor acting in a movie. The last time that he graced the screen was as Preity Zinta's father in Honey Irani's directorial debut, Armaan in 2003. But in recent times the actor seems to have suddenly signed on a couple of movies and appears to be raring to go.
Randhir, who was always known for his comic flair and timing, seems to have inspired by younger brother Rishi Kapoor's second innings in Luck By Chance. If he needed some more inspiration from his family, then sister in law Neetu Singh too will be making an appearance after so many years in Imtiaz Ali's Love Aaj Kal. The actor has already signed on Vipul Shah's Action replay where is scheduled to play Aishwariya Rai Bachchan's father. Relationships between the Kapoors and the Bachchans have improved. The next film that Randhir has signed is Sajid Khan's Housefull, which already stars Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal and Lara Dutta. Randhir will be playing a colourful millionaire in the movie, which goes on the floors in the first week of July. Incidentally, besides acting, this elder son of the late Raj Kapoor will also be doing his best to revive the RK banner. There are plans for a Kareena Ranbir starrer by the end of the year. With two such popular youth icons in the family, this would seem to be the best time for the Kapoors to revive their banner. But in the meanwhile, Randhir is busy reviving his career as well.
