Sujoy Ghosh is one of the many directors who is hoping that the multiplex issue resolves itself quickly. If all goes well, the director would like to release his movie, the much awaited Aladin, on August 14.
Unfortunately for him, he has no magic lamp and genie to call for help, unlike the protagonist of his film, Aladin. The film, which stars Amitabh Bachchan as the genie and Ritesh Deshmukh as Aladin has been in the making for a while now. The movie sees the director relooking at the age old fairy tale about the genie in the magic lamp who grants Aladin three wishes. With the help of the genie and his own wits, Aladin manages to win the heart of Jasmine, a role which is played by Jacqueline Fernandes. Since it is a fantasy, the film is going to be high on special effects but the director is very clear that it is the script which is the most important ingredient in making a successful film. Special effects are only add ons. He seems to have learned a lesson or two from the failure of his last movie, Home Delivery.
