Hema Malini's attention was drawn to a story about mother – daughter relationship. So she decided to go ahead and produce it. Since it's a film about women, she decided it would be apt for a woman to produce the film and Revathi came to her mind.

Revathi has already directed 2 remarkable films 'Mitr-My Friend' and 'Phir Milenge.' Revathi and Hema Malini met in Mumbai and Revathi agreed to direct the film.
