Actor Rajeev Khandelwal, is one of those television actors who has managed to create a niche for himself in Hindi movies. The transition has not been so trying and difficult for him. He managed to establish his credentials as a competent actor with his debut movie, Rajendra Gupta's Aamir. And now the actor has got many other opportunities to reinforce that belief.

Currently, the actor is working on John Owen's Peter Gaya Kaam Se, which has completed its schedule in Goa. He is paired opposite Lekha Washington in the movie, which is said to be a love story with a twist. But the bigger news is that the actor has reportedly been signed on by Sanjay Leela Bhansali for his film Chenab Gandhi, which is being directed by Vibhu Puri, his assistant. There has no official statement as yet by Bhansali on this. But the fact of the matter is that Harman Baweja, who had earlier been signed on for the movie, has been dropped. Khandelwal apparently comes in to replace him in the cast. According to sources, John Abraham was being seriously considered for the role, but it seems that the makers have finally zeroed in on Khandelwal. Chenab Gandhi is the story of Khan Abdul Ghaffer Khan, known as the Frontier Gandhi. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Vidya Balan
