Director Sajid Khan shot for his film Heyy Babyy in complete silence for eight hours in Film City recently because the baby was asleep and was required to remain so for the scenes being shot.
The unit shot for eight hours in pin-drop silence, which is a feat in itself as most shootings are associated with a lot of hustle-bustle. The actors Akshay Kumar, Ritesh Deshmukh and Fardeen Khan along with the rest of the unit were asked to remove their shoes so that there would not be even the slightest of sounds. And instead of shouting 'action' and 'cut' at the top of his voice, Sajid was communicating with his unit in whispers. And when his whispers were not understood, the stars or members of the unit would rush towards him and keep their ears to his lips or he would have to use sign language. As if that was not enough, the door of the sets was also kept shut on that day for outsiders. The vanity vans were not allowed to be parked near the studio floor. Sajid had to resort to such desperate measures because he had to finish canning the shot that day since Akshay was leaving for Priyadarshan's shoot in Rajasthan. But the good news was that the baby didn't get up and Sajid got his shots.
