The coloursed version of B. R. Chopra's Naya Daur was to be premiered today. But after hearing the ruling on Sanjay Dutt's case, Ravi Chopra, who is very close to the Dutt family has cancelled the premiere today as a mark of solidarity towards the Dutts. The six years of imprisonment on the Sanjay Dutt case has come as a rude shock not only to the Dutt family and friends but to the film fraternity as a whole. All were expecting that Sanjay Dutt would be let off with minimal term and this would be set off against the 16 months he has already served. The harsh ruling of six years term behind the bars for Sanju has talen all by surprise. Ravi Chopra says that Sunil Dutt saab has worked on a lot of projects of BR Chopra (they have done six films together) and has always been like family, making Sanju and his sisters also very close to the Chopras. Ravi Chopra said that after hearing the news of Sanju, they were not in a frame of mind to celebrate and hence, the premiere has been called off.
