Director Imtiaz Ali is currently busy with his film starring Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapur so the much talked about Rockstar starring John Abraham has been put on hold as of now.

Imtiaz says he has no clue as to what is happening with Rockstar as he is too busy shooting the Shahid-Kareena starrer. He says that for the last four months, he has been busy shooting and editing and has absolutely no clue as to what is happening with the film. According to rumours, Rockstar is believed to be similar to Rang De Basanti. But Imtiaz has denied that. He said the films may be similar in tone, but that's where the resemblance, if any ends. Anyway it is unfair to compare a film which has not even gone on the floors to a cult film like Rang De. Incidentally, the female lead is yet to be finalized. Even John hasn't been signed but has just given his consent on the film. No contract has been signed so far. Imtiaz says that he is keeping an open mind about the cast. He is not in touch with John at the moment and is not sure when the film will happen.
