That Saif Ali Khan is essaying the role of a 'sardar' in LOVE AAJ KAL is something that all those who follow Bollywood news have known for quite a while now. Even the latest promos show a very handsome Saif in the get up of a 'sardar'. And this may lead people to assume that Saif Ali Khan is in a double role in LOVE AAJ KAL, a love story that has a time span from 1965 to 2009.

However, that is not the case. As per unit sources, Saif is not exactly essaying a double role here! Although he does appear as a 'sardar' in the movie, he simply symbolizes/represents young Rishi Kapoor. Well, people may not understand what we are trying to say here, so we will elaborate.

Actually our patrons will remember our news where we had informed them ''Love blooms at London cafeteria." And that cafeteria is run by none other than a 'sardar ji' played by Rishi Kapoor, who finds love in present times very artificial and he relates his own love story of 1965 to the couple Saif Ali Khan (Jai) and Deepika Padukone (Meera), who frequent his cafe. But the young Rishi is not played by Rishi himself (as is the norm), but enacted by Saif who represents young Rishi. So, we see Saif dressed as a 'sardar'.

Well, here's hoping for Saif to do a wonderful 'sadar ji' act like Akshay Kumar did in SINGH IS KINNG, and prove that he too is king of acting!
