Weirdass Productions, the productions house of renowned stand up comedian Vir Das, organized India's first ever Ham ateur Nights. The basic aim of these Ham ateur Nights is to give an ideal platform for upcoming talents in the field of comedy right from stand up to sketch comedy, from musical to slap stick comedy. The first ever night took place in Blue Frog, Mumbai and Vir Das aims to have his Ham ateur Nights on the 3rd Sunday of every month henceforth. The first ever such night was attended by various celebrities who are friends and colleagues of Vir. One of such close friend was Imran Khan who was extremely thrilled to be there and laughed his guts out by the end of it.

"India has a huge pool of talent as far as stand up comedy is concerned and I hope to be able to discover and nurture these gifted individuals, by giving them a launch pad" says Vir. Imran added, "Vir and I met during the shoot of Delhi Belly and we became good friends there. Stand up comedy is unlike other comedies. The event that was held today was great. My all time favorite comedian is Rajendranath."

Ten performances took place and a winner was announced by the end of it. The night ended at a perfect note with Vir doing the closing performance.
