Till some time back, Marathi cinema could not have probably envisioned this revolution that it has just seen. Well this is just the beginning. We are talking about the music launch of ad filmmaker Junaid Memon's Marathi film ANOLKHI HEY GHAR MAZE which happened amidst exquisite grandeur, with the striking presence of B-town's boy Riteish Deshmukh. Hosting such an extravaganza for a Marathi film truly amazed many, which stands worth a special mention here!Veteran director Kiran Shantaram who was present here echoes this sentiment saying, ''I was overwhelmed to be a part of that euphoric atmosphere. Finally it has dawned upon the producers to muster up courage to risk their capital for an appropriate upbringing of our culturally rich films, which may find critical acclaim at film festivals across the globe but struggle for commercial sustainability at home.'' The need of the hour he believes is that gen-next producers just like that of ANOLKHI HEY GHAR MAZE must foresee business opportunity in this different genre of cinema.
Whereas actor Tushar Dalvi, who plays a pivotal role in the film, feels that despite a surge of fresh subjects and talent, what Marathi cinema is lacking currently is the reach. He says, ''For ANOLKHI...the production value has risen, with more and more tremendous support from main stream cinema folks, it looks like our industry is gaining that revitalizing shot of energy it so needs. With great distribution, I hope the film reaches each nook and corner of the country. It's a fortunate sign. While the merit of films and the abundant creative talent in the Marathi film world is undeniable, what is stopping other films from having the kind of reach that they deserve?''
With a promising filmmaker, slowly-growing distribution market and much deserving promotion for ANOLKHI HEY GHAR MAZE, we hope this new-age Marathi cinema crosses hurdles to emerge stronger than ever before...
