Jodi no 1 - Season 2 began on August 03, 2007 from 8 p.m. and will run on Fridays and Saturdays in place of the hugely popular Super Singer Junior which ended recently. Jodi No. 1 began in October 2006 with much hype and expectation with 4 real life couples and 4 reel life couples dancing, facing tension, jubilation and exhilaration over 13 weeks. The judges (dance master Kala, actors Prashanth and Ramya Krishnan) chose the two finalists. Viewers themselves chose the third finalist by vote. Prem and Pooja, the reel life couple, were judged Jodi No.1 and became richer with prize money of Rs. 10 lakhs. The finalists also became superstars overnight with a larger-than-life fan following. Jodi No. 1 returns for its second season with 8 new celebrity couples, all popular faces among Tamil audiences. All of them have acted in movies and/ or TV, so they are not strangers to arc lights. The 8 couples are Kalaiselvan Tinku-Preethi, Yugendren-Hayma Malini, Sree-Krithika, Prithveeraj-Uma Riyaz, Arvind-Lakshmi, Irfan-Monisha, Venkat-Nisha, Dev-Aishwarya. Two dance schools will train these artistes, so the show is all set to entertain. Again, the winning couple walks away with prize money of Rs. 10 lakhs.
