Michael Jackson's magic was such that every film maker from present or a generation earlier was inspired by his work. While making films, they have at least once been inspired by the genius' work and incorporated a move or two of his in their songs. They come together to mourn the loss of the King who has left a vast repertoire of work behind him that would be remembered forever.

Vikram Bhatt - Michael Jackson is what our growing up years were all about. From rocking to 'Beat It' and 'Billie Jean' to coming back from work and listening to 'History', it was always all about him. I am sad. There are so many memories associated with each of his songs. There was a 'Beatles' generation and an 'Abba' generation and then there was a 'Michael Jackson' generation. He is gone now but will be remembered forever.

Imtiaz Ali - The most famous name of our time will live on forever.

Madhur Bhandarkar - When he was alive, media hounded him day in and night out and didn't allow him peace. There were issues being raised all over and his life was miserable. Today, we all are collectively praying for his soul to rest in peace. Isn't that ironical? We have grown on his music. Who can forget his contribution over such a long period of time? He has truly been an iconic figure.

Sanjay Gupta - Beat it, Billie Jean and Thriller gave me the formative training in rhythm, choreography and the energy of a song. The master of it all is gone and that loss is heartfelt.

Harry Baweja - There are no words to describe the loss. How do you spell it for someone like him? I am still in a state of shock.

Anurag Basu - People of my generation have grown up on his music. Who can forget 'Billie Jean', 'Thriller' and so many other blockbusters that he gave? In fact I remember how around a year back, in October 2008, he happened to come to the place where we were shooting for KITES in USA. He was there for some work of his own but when he got to know that a film from India was being shot there, he became curious. Hrithik and he also chatted for a while there was a mini mayhem as my crew went berserk with his presence. Such is the power of the man!

Jagmohan Mundhra - He was truly a great artist with a troubled life. May his soul rest in peace.

Vipul Shah - I got the news at 4 AM India time. We were shooting for ACTION REPLAY and the whole atmosphere suddenly changed the moment this news was broken to our cast and crew. Everybody was sad and kept discussing him. That was his reach. He was a true legend and his work will be remembered forever. It's a great loss to the world of music.

Deepak Tijori - Legends never die, they leave behind their legacy that remains with us in perpetuity. So shall his music live with us, in perpetuity.

Sanjay Gadhvi - He was a great artist, a great performer and had an outstanding LIVE concert production. He was truly the 'King of Pop'. He should be remembered for his contribution to music.

Kunal Deshmukh - I guess for all the controversies, he will be always remembered for his music.

Ken Ghosh - The King is dead; there will never be another like him.

Shirish Kunder - May his soul DANCE in peace!
