Koena Mitra recently signed an international project tentatively titled KARNA budgeted at Rs 70 crore. The film to be co-produced by PNC (Pritish Nandy Communications) and an LA based production house is aiming for an August 2008 release. Koena Mitra will lead the cast along with a Hollywood name as her co-star.KARNA will be shot in Hong Kong and China and will have lots of special effects. The international production has also tied up with the Hong Kong based special effects company GLIM for the same. GLIM has earlier worked on projects like FACEOFF and MATRIX. KARNA has martial arts and requires high levels of fitness. Koena has been training hard for her role in the film. She has already trained in Tai Chi and other martial arts for the film.
The film will be ready for release in 2008. Koena Mitra is under a non-disclosure contract and has been working on her training in tai chi as well as other fitness routines. She was selected because of the combination of her 'Indian face and international body'.
