London, Aug 17 (ANI): Pop star Lily Allen has reportedly been dropped from the MTV Music Awards following her American visa controversy.
According to a source, the show's organisers don't want to take any risk regarding whether the singer will be able to make it to Las Vegas next month.
"MTV were desperate to get Lily and they're furious with her visa situation. They've decided to pull the plug because they didn't want to leave it to the last minute to find out if she could or couldn't make it," the Mirror quoted the source, as saying.
The 21-year-old's US visa was revoked after she was interrogated by authorities at a US airport regarding her arrest for an alleged attack on photographer Kevin Rush outside a nightspot in March this year.
She had flown in from Australia for the MTV video music awards launch in Las Vegas when she was stopped by immigration who confiscated her visa.
The recent development in the case is that the singer has been ordered to take blood and urine tests in a bid to get the visa decision overturned.
Allen has now hired known lawyers Sheridans to come out of her troubles.
A source revealed that the singer was doing her best to sort out things before her due gig in September.
"Lily's desperate to fulfil her September tour in the US, which included going to the MTV Music Awards in Vegas on September 9. But it's been much trickier than she's imagined - in particular being asked to take the tests which she considers irrelevant and unnecessary," the source said. (ANI)
