London, August 18 (ANI): The story behind how the world's most famous spy, James Bond, was born has been revealed now.

In 1952, bestseller author, Ian Fleming, who was a journalist with The Times, was worried about his imminent marriage, and to divert himself from the looming ceremony, he started carving out a story on his typewriter.

A month later Casino Royale was completed and the legendary secret agent James Bond 007 was born, reports the Telegraph.

Fleming, who had worked as a stockbroker, a reporter on The Times and, during the Second World War, a spymaster in the Naval Intelligence Division, once told a friend, "I am going to write the spy story to end all spy stories."

Fleming had written 14 Bond books by the time of his death, in 1964, creating an iconic character that had an eternal grip on popular culture.
