Manoj Kumar may not be sharing a very good equation with Shah Rukh Khan, after OM SHANTI OM, but he is certainly on a very good terms with his ex- friend, Salman Khan and brother Sohail Khan. And here is why!According to Salim Khan, the legendary scriptwriter and father of Salman and Sohail, the two go a long way back. In fact Manoj Kumar and Salim Khan are very good friends and they often visit each other and share a similar interest in homeopathy. Salim Khan also informs that Sohail Khan, who is the producer of the upcoming KISAAN (along with UTV), is trying to incorporate the superhit patriotic composition, "Mere Desh Ki Dharti" (from Manoj Kumar's cult classic UPKAAR) in the film because it suits the situation as KISAAN is about a farmer who holds his land very close to his heart.
As per Salim Khan, Manoj Kumar has already given his go-ahead for that and HMV (which holds the copyright for the song) has also given the green signal to Sohail Khan to use the song in his film.
Well, it will be interesting to see how wisely Sohail uses this beautiful patriotic song in KISAAN and whether the film turns out to another UPKAAR in the making for the beleaguered producer who has not had a hit since PARTNER in 2007!
