Directed by Priyadarshan, the film is a remake of the same Malayalam film which was later remade as CHANDRAMUKHI in Tamil. This Rajnikanth starrer blockbuster had created records on its release and is still running successfully at certain centers.There is a slight difference though in the way CHANDRAMUKHI and BHOOL BHULAIYYA have been pitched in front of the audience. While CHANDRAMUKHI was prominently a dramatic film with strong angles of myth and horror, the first look of BHOOL BHULAIYAA suggests a comedy in the making, though with myth as an underlining force.
Though it is difficult to imagine how an out and out dramatic film could be converted into a comedy, with Priyadarshan at the helm, one can expect the unexpected.
Apart from Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Shiney Ahuja and Amisha Patel, the film also stars now-much-in-demand comic jodi of Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav along. Also starring in the film are Asrani, Manoj Joshi and Rasika Joshi who come together to complete the team which has been regular with Priyadarshan for many a projects now!
BHOOL BHULAIYAA has dialogues and screenplay by Neeraj Vora who delivered a directorial hit PHIR HERA PHERI last year. Pritam has composed the music of the film which is expected to be out early September.
