Director Raj Kapoor is very happy to say that Sathyaraj has done a hitherto not done role in 'Vambusandai.'

Produced by A Venkatesh for Jaimathaji Cine Combines, the film features Uday Kiran and Diya in the lead roles. Sathyaraj does an important role where he is supposed to have forgotten the past, a la 'Ghajini' Surya style.

In the second half, he comes as a Kathakali artiste and also does a great job of some fight scenes in the same getup, we are told.

"Among the films I have done with Sathyaraj, this film is definitely one of a kind. Despite being aware that it is not a usual hero kind of role, Sathyaraj has done a wonderful job of this new kind of character. Just like Karthik was full of youth in 'Varusham Padhinaaru,' Uday Kiran is an energetic young chap in this film.

Among my films, this one will definitely be worth mentioning for the new ideas I have put into the making. In short, this will be a technically super film. I am sure this will also enhance my name as a director," says Raj Kiran.

The audio release took place in Chennai. Simbu released the songs and were received by Sathyaraj. Composer D Iman, director Raj Kapoor, actors Saravanan, Manobala, Ramesh Khanna, actress Bharathi and others participated in the function.
