London, Aug 22 (ANI): Canadian singer Nelly Furtado will perform at the 2007 US MTV Video Music Awards in Las Vegas in September.

The 'I'm Like A Bird' hitmaker will join Rihanna and Amy Winehouse at the event.

Furtado has also been nominated for the female artist of the year along with Beyonce Knowles, Winehouse, Sarah Ferguson and Rihanna.

Gym Class Heroes have been listed for the best group and best new artist.

Beyonce and Justin Timberlake are up for seven nominations each, reports the BBC.

Rapper Kanye West and Barbadian singer Rihanna have been nominated in five categories each.

Lily Allen, who is a nominee for the best newcomer award, has pulled out the show citing visa problems.

A record company source said that the 'procedure is taking longer then anticipated'.

The 'Smile' singer has postponed her show that was scheduled to begin on September 6.

Allen said that she is disappointed but has vowed not to let down her fans. (ANI)
