Amitabh Bachchan is generally known to be very reserved on the sets. That he has a sense of humour is not known to many. On the sets of Rituparno Ghosh's The Last Lear, the Big B apparently decided to shed his serious image and have some fun. At the receiving end were director Rituparno and actress Preity Zinta.
Bachchan, who plays the role of a theatre actor in film, who swears by Shakespeare, apparently provided a lot of comic relief during the shoot of the film that took place in Kolkata and Mussoorie. His prime target was family friend Rituparno. He kept taking endless digs at the director and penchant for perfection and then moved on to his newly-shaved bald pate. The actor christened him 'Hitler Ghosh.' He also threatened to form a union of actors and technicians to wage a war against the director for his disciplinary ways. Preity was also the target of many of his jokes. The actress has to wear cotton sarees all through the film, and the Big B kept asking to her mind her step and even insisted that two unit hands to always be alongside the actress in case she trips. This, despite the fact that Preity kept insisting that she was quite comfortable wearing one. Rare to see the Big B in such a mellow mood.
