Aparna Sen, who is still wrapping up the shooting of her latest Bengali film, A Japanese Wife, is all set to throw herself into her next project, her first in Hindi. Gulel, the film she plans to direct, is expected to feature Abhishek Bachchan.
The film was originally being made by Ismail Merchant before he died. But after his death, the project fell apart and now Aparna is doing the project. Abhishek had even given dates when Ismail's nephew was planning on making it. He had told Naeem that if Aparna Sen directed the film, he would work in it. The director too is equally keen to work with him in Gulel. As for Abhishek, he says he has an affinity for all things Bengali. He says he loves working with Bengalis. The actor has done two Bengali films as well so far. One is Antarmahal directed by Rituparno Ghosh and Desh directed by Raja Sen.
