London, Aug 23 (ANI): Paramedics rushed a heavily intoxicated ten-year-old boy to the hospital, after they spotted him on the road in Tonge Moor, Bolton.
The paramedics were called in after the boy's brother fled the place after calling 999.
The unnamed boy is now recuperating in the hospital.
The police will talk to the kids' parents and report them to social services.
Sgt John Boyce said that it is unusual to find kids of that age to be inebriated, and that such heavy influence can have several effects on children.
"I'm extremely concerned that a child so tender in years has been found in this state," the Mirror quoted Sgt John Boyce, as saying.
"It's unusual for children of this age to be found in a drunken state and the time of day makes it all the more alarming. Kids of that age put themselves at numerous risks when they get drunk," he added.
The news comes when a survey claims that even 12-year-olds are bingeing on wine and spirits regularly.
Almost 20 pct of 15 year-olds have drinking problems. (ANI)
