It was the time when Amitabh Bachchan was being projected as the angry young man in Bollywood. He was cast in a film titled 'Don' about an underworld don and it was a super it.
The Tamil film 'Billa' was a take off from 'Don.' It was a great hit here. The matter did not stop there. It was made as 'Yugantar' with NT Rama Rao and this film was also a great hit.
Many years later, 'Don' was re-made in Hindi starring Shahrukh Khan. When this film also proved to be a great hit, the Tamil version is being made by Vishnuvardhan with Ajith in the lead. Would the Telugu people remain quiet then?
Gajalakshmi Arts Vidyasagar is remaking the 1979 hit 'Yugantar.' This is being directed by his younger brother, who happens to be none other than director P Vasu. It is generally expected that NTR's grandson Junior NTR will star in the film.
A film is made in Hindi, then in Tamil and Telugu. Years later, this same film is re-made in Hindi and is followed by the Tamil and Telugu versions. This is the first time such a thing is happening in world cinema history!
