Monica had, until now, only been acting in Tamil films. A few years ago, she used to play the flashback "heroine" roles. But recently she made her switch to playing heroine roles. So what has she got to do with Onam?
Well, most people don't know this but her mother is a Malayali from Kottayam.
"My mother has told me a lot about the festival and about king Mahabali. I always wanted to come to Kerala atleast once on Onam so I could see the festivities in person. But I still haven't got the opportunity," says Monica.
She is now starring as the heroine of the new Tamil film named 'Silandhi'. Monica's family is closely related to acclaimed Malayalam actress Radhamani. "She too has said so many wonderful things about Onam. I'm just waiting for the opportunity to see the festival in Kerala. I hope it comes true very soon."
