The 12th Annual Miss Showbiz India pageant took place at the historic Alex Theatre attracting Hollywood and Bollywood celebrities alike. Three former Miss India attended the event in different capacities. Former Miss India and actress, Pooja Batra looking dazzling in a sari, served as one of the distinguished judges which included names such as Randall Wallace (Oscar winning writer of Braveheart/ Pearl Harbor), Shani Rigsbee (background score Crash, House of Sand and Fog), Dawn Thomas (development executive at Will Smith's Overbrook entertainment), Nicholas Guilak (A regular on the hit show 24).Former Miss World Diana Hayden served as hostess with executive producer of the pageant and former Miss LA India, Reshma Dordi. Also present was former Miss India Celina Jaitley.
The glamorous Miss Showbiz India beauty pageant has become a premier Indian event held in North America. The event was attended by the biggest names in the business and entertainment world. Celebrities such as Parminder Nagra (Bend It like Beckam/ER), Naureen Dewolf (Ocean's 13), Luenell (Borat) and many more attended this star studded event. Anita Vasan of California was crowned the winner of this coveted title. Beginning with a red carpet Hollywood style complete with the end at a wrap party in Beverly Hills.
