Kaushik Roy's foray in cinema in the genre that has popularly come to be called 'meaningful cinema' with Apna Asmaan had a special screening for the contestants of the very popular 'Indion Idol' on sony tv. The Irrfan Khan, Shobhana, Rajat Kapur, Anupam Kher starrer was seen touching the hearts of these celebrities as they sat through the length of the film, thinking. All felt that the surprise package of the film was Dhruv, the child actor who plays the central role in the film. A heart felt tete e tete followed between the indion idol contestants and kaushik Roy after the screening of the film. Co-producer Umang also took active part and displayed palpable pride in his maiden venture as a producer. Everything from the performances to the unique background score was disscused and both the contestants and the film crew wished each other luck for the future all in all, an evening meaningfully spent.
