Urmila Matondkar is all set to take over from Simi Garewal in Karz remake being directed by Satish Kaushik. The actress has just signed the role of Kamini, which was played by Simi in the the original. And since it's Urmila, there will also be a sizzling hot number that she will dance to in the film.

Bhushan Kumar, the producer of the film, confirmed the news adding that Urmila was their first choice for the role of Kamini. Himesh Reshammiya, the film's hero, is also very happy with the choice. The rationale behind roping in Urmila according to Bhushan is the fact that Urmila is a talented actress. They were not too keen on taking someone looked too old and felt that Urmila had a certain freshness about her as well. Urmila's career is quite non-existent at the moment. Her dance number Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag has suddenly got her a lot of attention. Now this Karz remake could give her career a much needed boost. Urmila is quite happy about her role in the film and is looking forward to it as well as the song number.
