Salman Khan, whose sentence in the Chinkara poaching case was upheld by the Jodhpur Sessions court yesterday, is expected to fly to Jodhpur today at 11.30 am to surrender. The actor was not present in court yesterday and was represented by his sister Alviar Agnihotri and his lawyers when the judge upheld the sentence. The actor, who could not be located through the day, finally surfaced at his Bandra residence in Mumbai.
The actor's lawyer has said that Salman will file a review petition in the Rajasthan High Court. If the Judge orders a stay on the Sessions Court judgement till the review petition is heard, Salman will manage to stay out of jail. But if the High Court asks him to surrender first then he will of course have to go to jail. Even if the court takes up the petition on Monday, Salman could still avoid arrest. It is possible that on Monday, the Judge may order a stay on the lower court order till the review petition is heard.
