Joining the band wagon of 'realistic cinema' directors, the young and dynamic Mohit Suri has gone where no one has dared to go before. Recent reports of racism in a developed nation against Indian's residing there which shocked the whole world forced Mohit to prove the idiom of 'Art imitates life' right. What better way to highlight the grave problems faced by Indian's abroad than by showing it in a true-to-life movie adaptation? In a recent press conference held at the hub of tinsel-town, Mohit announced his ambitious plans to make a film on racial discrimination with Indians abroad. Mohit will be heading to the country which started it all, Australia, for some research on the subject and to meet the victims of assault first-hand. On his trip, Mohit will also be finalizing locations for his films shooting.

On asked if his film was a dig at the 'whites', Mohit vehemently denied the claims and said, ''Racism is a Universal issue and concerns everyone on the globe. I am not attempting to demonize or victimize anyone. We are just attempting to tell a story based on facts which are open to interpretation.'' Mohit's obvious choice for a lead in his film is Emraan Hashmi who plays the main protagonist in the film through whose eyes the story is narrated. Known for his amazing understanding of the strong-points of his actors, Mohit is very confident that Emraan will be able to ''essay the role to perfection''.

A topic like this is very controversial but that didn't dissuade young Mohit from picking it up. The news of Indian's being assaulted abroad was enough to persuade him to be the change he wishes to see in the world. In order to best depict the condition of our fellow country-men, he decided to raise the topic on the big screen and show the reality of the situation to the audience. Talking animatedly in the press meet, Mohit said that even though the media has hyped the incidents to some extent but the bottom line is that discrimination in any shape or form is a harsh reality of this world. He was very touched by the support being given to the victims by not only Indians but people everywhere. His film, he says will talk about how people come together in the face of adversity. It is amazing to see such great thought come from someone at such a young age even though he personally wasn't witness to the atrocities himself.

Mohit made his debut with ZEHER (2005), starring Emraan Hashmi, Udita Goswami and Shamita Shetty which was a trend-setter of sorts and gave rise to many movies made on the same storyline. It was followed by KALYUG which was another big success and became a hit for its music as well. He directed Kangna Ranaut and Shiney Ahuja in WOH LAMHE (2006), reportedly based on the tragic life of the late actress Parveen Babi. Next was AWARAAPAN (2007) which wasn't a box-office success yet it was critically acclaimed. His last release RAAZ- THE MYSTERY CONTINUES (2009) was a genuine 21st century Horror Genre Bollywood film and declared as the 1st genuine hit of the year 2009.

Another big project that Mohit has lined up is a Bollwood remake of 'Warner Brothers' film, LOVE IN THE AFTERNOON. It just goes to show his good luck and hard work that Warner Brothers not only gave them permission to remake the film but also will be co-producing it in association with Vishesh Films. In this one again, Emraan will be the male lead. The rest of the details of the film are yet to be finalized.
