London, Aug 28 (ANI): The Malawian official previously banned from travelling to the UK to oversee Madonna's adoption of toddler David Banda has now been given the go-ahead from his country.
Penstone Kilembe, director of Malawi's Ministry of Child Welfare, who was overseeing the adoption was banned by his government from travelling to the UK, where he was to spend a week with the couple to determine if they were fit parents, after Kate Kainja, the Minister of Women and Child Development, accused him of obtaining an air ticket to London and money from Madonna herself without the Malawi government's approval.
At the time, Mr Kilembe said that banning him from travelling could see the adoption process "crumble".
Now however, the ban has been lifted, and Mr Kilembe put the accusations down to a "misunderstanding".
"What we had with the minister was just a misunderstanding and that has been resolved," the Scotsman quoted him, as saying.
He added that the singer had been informed, and that she was 'looking forward' to seeing him in the UK.
"Madonna herself has been informed about the new proposed dates. She has been looking forward to this so her adoption process is not hampered," he said.
The proposed visit will last for two weeks from 4 September. (ANI)
