With encouraging reports pouring in from the box office, producer Boney Kapoor is one happy man. His Salman Khan starrer 'Wanted' seems to have emerged as a winner. Of course, Boney was quite confident of the project, after all, it is a remake of the Southern hit, 'Pokhiri'.
Of course! everyone knows how much trouble Salman gave his producer over dates. But now that everything seems to have turned out of the best, the past seems like water under the bridge now. Buoyed by the box office reports of 'Wanted', Boney now wants to make a sequel to the 2005 hit flick, 'No Entry'. Going the way Rohit Shetty, the Golmaal director has gone, Boney is believed to have already roped in, who else, but Anees Bazmee, to direct the sequel. The film is expected to hit the floors by the end of the year as work on the script has been completed. This time round, the film will star Salman, Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan, the three protagonists of the movie, in double roles. The actresses who have been roped in include Lara Dutta, Celina Jaitley and Esha Deol. Boney seems bent on reaping as much mileage as he can from the success of 'Wanted'. But in this entire process of rediscovering Salman, the superstar, everybody seems to have forgotten about Prabhudeva, the super director of the movie. Like Murugadoss and 'Ghajini' before him, Prabhudeva has shown how Madrasi Masala can be tinkered with slightly to make for some spicy pan Indian fare. But his film was poised against a feel good Yash Raj flick, starring Rani Mukherjee and Shahid Kapur. Even though both films belonged to different genres, there is always a competition at the box office. But this time round, it seems that a greater percentage of audiences have cast their vote in favour of Salman. It seems that the ubiquitous Punjabi tadka has been toppled over by some southern spice. A welcome change actually.
